For me this year was very uncommon and eventful with biggest change, the movement into the U.S. That's also the reason why the pre-Christmas period this year is very different from all other experiences.
The weather makes me not feel like Christmas is coming. In Germany now it is freezing cold and you sit inside where it is warm. There are many Christmas markets where you drink mulled wine to warm you up and eat gingerbread.
Here in the U.S. I can sit outside with a T-shirt and I really don't feel like Christmas.
In Nuremberg, where I come from, is the most famous Christmas market (Christkindlesmarkt). Often we have snow, but we always have many tourist from all over the world.

Korea also is a very freezing season. I heard that we even had a snow last week. However, in here, I can't feel X-MAS at all ;(
Unfortunately, I have to spend that day in Korea, because I'm going back to Korea on 23th-which is right before X-MAS ;
I feel so sad about that ;(
As you'll spend here about 2~3years,hope to spend great X-MAS with your boyfriend in America ! ;)
I agree with you. It is difficult for me to feel Christmas in Alabama.
I think Cristmas can be connected with SNOW, and snowing can call the Santa Claus!
Anyway, the nice season is coming!!
