Instincts

What is the difference of animals and humans? Not much, the target of both is to survive!
This seems to be a bit extreme, but it' s true. Both animals and humans are controlled by their instincts. Otherwise we were not able to survive over that long time. It is facinating how fast a baby can learn and how clever it is. The nature is something that the science can not replace completly. Maybe it could never be explained and discovered even if scientists are this opinion. For this reason it will always leave some space for the facinating development of humans and animals and also the fascination how the environment functions because everything work together.

Nevertheless, our instincts lead us, but what we do with our live depends on the nurture. Therefore, the parents have an immense responsibility for their children. They should be raised in a way that respects their personality, but also they have to respect the society. Children don' t know what' s right and wrong and how they have to behave. Hopefully, these things will be educated to every child.

There is no clear border for behaviour if it' s inherited or influeced by nurture. Most things are influenced by both of them and the science have no clear evidence for a few things to which category it should be counted.

Cultureshock

Living in a foreign country is a great chance and also a challenging experience. You will meet new people, learn new things every day and discover the difference of the cultures. It is helpful to widen your horizon, and it' s also nice to have that in your vita. Before you moving to another country think about your expectations; why are you doing this? It may be one reason to travel in the foreign country, another one could be to learn a new language or improve your ability in the language, or to take the chance of a new job. That' s an exciting thought and everybody would recommend that. However, don' t expect to get settled in another country in a very short time. Even if the culture seems very similar, the differences are immense. There is first the language: you don' t understand it! You think, where is the problem? You have learned the language very well, and you are ready to meet the poeple. If they speek in their normal speed and withsome kind of slang you have no chance to understand them. You have to get used to it that takes time and practise. The smallest things can get a biiiig problem, think about a simple applience in the kitchen doesn' t work correctly. Ok, you can call a hotline (wait 1/2 hour) and try to explain your problem but you don' t understand the answer, so you will be given to another employee of the company... (wait another 1/2 hour) .... hang up, try it another time. The buerocrathy is bad in your country, it won' t get better in another country. It' s getting only more complicated because of the other language and the different style of it. Maybe you don' t get used to it at any time. The people you will meet in the other country will thind and feel different from your expection. That' s the reason why it is really intersting to live abroad, but that' s also the reason why you feel sometimes like that:

That' s cultureshock!

That' s the way it works. The feeling which is caused by another culture is not always positive. Not everybody has to have that, but if you know that it should be easier to deal with it. A cultureshock is the sign that you are ready for
learning something new and different. The positive news is: we learn quickly, and so it will become really funny and
enthusiastic to live abroad. Try it; otherwise you' ll never know!!

Dæmans

The author of The golden Compass must have a lot of phantasie. He discribes in his book external spirits in the form of animals called dæmons. It sounds very funny that everybody has such a companion. When I'm thinking about having something like that which surrounds my the whole day; it' s really a strange thought. I' ve tried to find out, what shape my spirit has (www.goldencompassmovie.com). That' s the result:

A tiger is definetly not what I expected. If you think of
a spirit I' m thinking about something very little. Maybe
something that sits on your shoulder, but I wouln' t like
to carry a tiger around.

The book also describes some other animals as a spirit like
dogs or a snow leopard which are also very interesting
to think about.

This is a phantasie book, but has this something to do with reality? Has everbody a soul either inside or outside of the body? Is there something you agree or disagree with like the discription of the discussion with the animals?
In my opinion that has something to do with personality. If you agree or disagree with someone or a make a decision
in a difficult situation you think about your behaviour. Nevertheless, you also have feelings which comes from your
"abdomen"; something that you can' t define clearly. I would say this comes from experiences and what you have
been told from your parents, how have you been educated, what' s accepted by society etc. These things are very relevant for our decisions and reactions.
Many of these decisions affect not only you, but also you are responsable for others, so it' s important to use the mind as well. This both senses together, the feelings and the mind have to work together. Sometimes you must be able to make a compromise, so you have to argue not only with others, but also with the controvercial sight of feeling and thinking. That way of quarrel is discribed in the book as the argue with an animal to make that metaphorical.

My strength and weaknesses with writing

Most important for an author is to catch the readers attention. It is not easy to make a writing interesting. It doesn' t matter if you write in your mother language or a foreign language. However, it is much more difficult to write in your second language and express your ideas so that everybody can follow and understand what you are talking about.
That makes the writing for me that difficult as it is. To write down my ideas exciting and with the correct grammar has something to do with practice. The main problem is using the correct grammar while thinking about the topic and the paragraphs. Hopefully, everybody gets the context of what I want to express. One of my strength is to be an persuative writer, I think I can convince the reader that I have the right opinion. The organisation I use is ususally very good.
My writing skills have improved a lot in the level 5 because I have seldom written in English. Neither in school nor in my job I have to use my English skills to write anything down. The quality of an essay of mine also depends on the topic. It is easier to write about a topic I' m interested in or I would like to know more about that than to write about a less interesting theme. In my opinion, I can express myself also in a written form so that it is interesting for my readers and they pay attention on my essay and also receive some information of it. I' m looking forward to write essays including information from other authors or using different sources to get more information about the topic before writing. That will be an excellent way to improve my writing skills in a way that makes it more effective. I will spend a lot of time with the writings I have to do so hopefully there are exciting topics. I don' t like to write about myself or other human behavior; it is very hard to develop ideas therefore and perhaps that is a weakness for my writing. On the other hand, I have to learn to deal with that kind of topics to write also good essays about these (and get good grades). Writing about a theme which I have to know facts for or that has some actuality is more interesting an I'm interested in writing those things and in the past it was easier to write about that.
